Most recent Tea leaf Card draw –

click on the picture to see the cards better –

It may be Thursday, but I missed my weekly draw this past weekend because of company staying with us. I didn’t want to wait till the weekend soooo….!!

I’m grateful to see the Rainbow as my first card, and the meaning that “the most difficult part of a situation is over”.
When I personally see rainbows, I always feel it’s a gift from Spirit and a good omen.

The following 3 cards describe what the situation has been:

Quill – get back to basics

Hills – Obstacles to overcome

Boot – Increase your efforts if you want to achieve your goals.

My family went through a period of great financial difficulty over the past 3 years. We were forced to sell our house and many of our belongings. It was difficult and heart wrenching, but also a time of obtaining a new perspective on Life and learning the lesson of ‘Enjoy the Journey’ and “Stay Present”.

Past norms went out the window, and living as frugally as we possibly could became the new norm for us. We took a leap of faith and moved across Canada, leaving all our belongings in storage, while we tried to forge a new life. Our things are still in storage 2 years later (!ugh) but our experiences have been rich. I became a modern day gypsy in many ways!

The Universe lined us up with some very interesting people – we found jobs, and are slowly re-building our lives. It’s been very hard, but I’ve really taken to heart about getting back to basics. I’ve since learned how to can foods, dehydrate, etc. and have built a food storage supply. Having gone through my own mini-“depression era” I don’t want to ever find myself without the basics. I’ve learned how to make my own laundry soap for a fraction of the cost of store-bought, and have discovered how wonderful White Vinegar is for cleaning and other uses! I’ve made the most of being frugal, and wouldn’t trade the knowledge. My grandmother and mother would be proud 🙂 ❤

But, how nice it is to see the Rainbow card in front of this situation! The most difficult part is over…. I like that. Now, if only I can get my belongings over to this side of Canada and find a home to put them in!! All in due time….

What’s interesting about this reading to me, is that my Higher Self or my guides wanted me to know that things will improve. This wasn’t a mundane reading about some event or person, but a sweet message of encouragement. That means a lot.

I don’t know why it took me so long to dedicate time to these wonderful cards, but I’m so glad I’ve rediscovered them now. I really like their energy.

Ironically, if I didn’t see any words on these cards, they would still have a special meaning to me. My grandfather always had me sing “Somewhere over the Rainbow” when I was little – lol – always found them of special import.

The Quill for me is writing – (my father was a journalist and was writing his first novel when he died) I have always written stories, songs, poetry…

The Hills remind me of the Hill Country in Texas where my grandfather had the family ranch. I grew up there, riding horses and making pictures out of the clouds 🙂

and the Boot, was our regular attire! but it’s a strong symbol for my Dad.

I’ve been seriously contemplating taking a course on writing a novel – these symbols could be a message from my Dad that that would be a good thing for me to do! (Thanks Dad)

Always remember, there are many ways to combine symbols – what you are drawn to is appropriate for you. There can be more than one level of reading messages in the cards of any deck. Play with them and see what you come up with!

Weekly Tea Leaf Reading~

I drew these cards 10 days ago, and then never had a chance to post. It stayed with me because I understood it (!lol!) but to be honest, it hasn’t happened yet 😦   I know all too well though that the cards don’t stay boxed in to a time-frame that I’ve set – Time is a mental construct on our part, and the part that we access for psychic guidance is outside of Time. So I think this still has revelence.

The Money Path, this opportunity, is connected to a stubborn individual. My first thought was that this stubborn person was my unofficial boss that I’m working with on a big project;  (my ‘boss’ is also a dear friend, and there is a lot of affection between the 2 couples – the 4 of us liked each other on first meeting and became fast friends)- but as the days pass, I’m not so sure. My husband is a very stubborn individual in his own right! lol so this might be related to him 🙂

Whoever the stubborn person is, there is affection/love and caring and some kind of an announcement/news coming from them.

Those are the 2 stubborn people in my life at the moment, so it’s GOT to be referencing one of them! lol  Hope it’s my husband, but we’ll see 🙂

Tarot of the Sidhe

One of my favorite decks is the Tarot of the Sidhe, by Emily Carding. Read a review of this deck here. See other images of the deck here.

I don’t ‘fiddle’ with them as much as I should, mainly because I find them very serious! which isn’t fair…I plan on pushing through that resistance! These cards usually go to the heart of the matter.

I drew these cards the other night, with reverence, and was quite surprised to see what came up.

Maker Queen- gift of healing :

This card would equate to the Queen of Pentacles in the Rider system. I first go through the cards and work with the meanings that Emily was given, and then also look at the equivalent tarot meanings.

The healing Spring of this green land,
Issues forth from her fair hand,
All in balance, perfect health,
The key to happiness and wealth…

keywords: wholesome,healthy,beautiful,wealthy,practical,organized

Warrior Prince – gift of Spirit:

He is a warrior of the Soul,
Nothing will keep him from his goal,
Many will follow the Prince’s lead,
To inspiration with spirit’s freed….

keywords: crusader,charismatic,inspirational,dangerous,political,activist

The Warrior Prince would correlate with the Knight of Wands.

Dancer Three – Jubilance

When the whole shines full and round,
The three blithe dancers may be found,
skipping for the joy of life,
For friendship and forgotten strife…

keywords: joy,frivolity,companionship,enjoyment,enjoyment,party,bonding,celebration

The Dancer Three would equate to the 3 of Cups in the Rider deck.

Now on one level, I like to just read the captions at the bottom of the card:
Gift of Healing – Gift of Spirit – Jubilance

These three messages meant a lot to me personally, on a deep level. Forgive me if I don’t open up as to why, maybe another time I will write more on this.

On another level, I recognized the Warrior Prince with it’s keywords as my husband. He is definitely a warrior, a crusader and activist. In his younger years, he identified himself with the Knight of Wands; he is now more of a King of Cups but the knight’s energy still comes forth 🙂

He has been on a personal crusade to expose a “spiritual guru” in the states for years (at great cost in every way to us) for the crook she really is. The fight has changed our living circumstances, and our perspective dramatically, but it was worth it to open the eyes of a few.

SO! to see the Gift of Healing and Jubilance surrounding the Warrior Prince really warmed my heart. Maybe this nightmare is really about to come to an end. We have never been what you would call ‘normal’, ha ha, but I wouldn’t mind being a little more normal than we’ve been!

I would also come under the card Maker Queen/Queen of Pentacles, so on a mundane level, it looks like this writer and husband might be celebrating something soon.

I hope that all applies……but especially the first….

Weekly Reading with theTea Leaf Cards

Well, I’m not too pleased to see the first card, Shield…I need to defend myself? Swell! lol

I drew these cards on Saturday before leaving on another journey (Carriage). I, at first, thought that the person I would have to defend myself from was my boss; he’s gray-haired. He has a habit of calling and needing things done at the most inopportune times! lol but I’ve already had an instance happen that might fulfill this reading with my husband.

Last night, I had to stand my ground in disagreeing with my husband on something important which I knew really irked him, but agreeing with him would have been worse. I made sure not to lose my temper, but stood my ground.

If nothing else happens this week, I will chalk it up to defending my position on a longstanding difference of opinion.

These readings make it sound like we’re at odds all the time, but we’re not honestly 🙂

mini update: I received a call on the road from my boss, saying that he was told that a deposit that I had made to a bank was not showing up in the account…I firmly said I deposited it and would scan in the receipts and send them to him and the other party. No anger on either parts – he believed me…. I was a bit annoyed, but not angry. So this might count for this week’s reading as well 🙂

Weekly Drawing – Tea Leaf Cards

Click on the picture to see it more closely-

I drew these this morning, and following the last reading, I am grateful to see these cards!

The Tiger, for me, always represents my husband. He is a Tiger in the Chinese Zodiac and fits it to a tee. They have 2 sides for sure – and you can see my hand at the back, trying to soothe just a bit, the unpredictable Tiger, wondering if I’ll get my hand bit off!

Target describes my husband very well. He is very goal oriented and can’t understand why others don’t follow suit to the degree he does.

Butterfly means a change for the better; and the following card Barrel says that something I feel is lacking is going to change for the better….or something that he (?) feels is lacking is going to get better? Most likely both!

It is my hope that these cards say that conditions surrounding us take a turn for the better, and that he doesn’t bite the hand that tries to soothe him.

Why do people turn on the ones closest to them? lashing out? it’s a very short-sighted thing to do!

Another way to read this possibly is that the very goal oriented Tiger has a change for the better around something seen as lacking.

I would like to think it relates to me, and I wonder what Rae would say was her experience. But oracle cards for me often talk about other people around me, and are not always necessarily a message directly to do with me. It’s one of those grey areas that I just have to follow my intuition on, and then come back and see if I was right.

I’m hoping the message means both!

Update:The message did end up meaning both and in a very surprising way. Yes, for me personally, things got better between my Metal Tiger and myself. It was a tough week work-wise and full moon -wise (!) but there were improvements in our relationship in a way that I had hoped for.

On another level, I was shocked at how these cards pinpointed an event for my husband. In general terms I will share that he has been deeply involved in negotiating a big land deal for his company. It has been a grueling few months getting it just right. Funds had been delayed, and the deal was left floating. This week, my husband learned some critical information about loans owed by the other party and had one of the creditors contact his lawyer. It literally was a game changer on the deal and will mean that he will save millions on this project.

Rae’s warning about being careful for what you wish for turned out to be very true though, because my husband is not a cut-throat when it comes to business, he and I firmly believe in karma. With that in mind, he has carefully tried to find the middle road for a fair deal on both sides, in light of the new information. It is a very tricky process!

So yes! these cards are very quickly becoming one of my favorite oracles (although nothing will take the place of the lenormand in my heart!! lol) — simply uncanny so far 🙂

Tea Leaf Fortune Cards~

I drew these cards earlier this week, but didn’t have a chance to post. I’m still trying to figure out what they relate to! 🙂

Any time I get a’ person’ card in a reading, no matter what oracle I’m reading, I try to get a fix  if possible, on who the card represents. In this reading, there’s a younger dark haired female who features. Don’t laugh, but I couldn’t think of anyone other than my daughter who I know, who fits that bill.

So going with that, I said that there was a boastful, arrogant person that she would have to deal with and somehow it would be tied up with her concerns at the moment with lack of funds. Whatever this person is saying or doing, she’d be wise to not lose her cool, because she’d regret it!

This week was the start of a new job for my daughter. Unbeknownst to me, there was an arrogant, derogatory person training her on some things. He belittled her for not catching on sooner. It upset her deeply – she’s a very sensitive and shy girl, and it was her first day!!

She texted me during the week that she didn’t like the job and wanted to quit. I sadly reminded her that she needed the income to put towards rent – so don’t do anything rash until she found another job.

Another way to combine these cards would be to say that there is a younger dark haired female who has a bit of a bad attitude, is concerned about something lacking and would be advised not to  lose her temper? OR that the first 3 cards describe that person, and the advice is that I should not lose my temper?! lol  If this is the case, then it’s not my daughter, as she’s neither arrogant or boastful; so I have no idea who’d that be describing.

I’ve met one other person this week who is a year younger (does that count? lol) but she’s neither boastful or arrogant either, very kind and humble…..so I’m at a loss.

Now I can identify with the feeling of loss in a few areas, and watching my temper, to be honest; but not to the boastful younger female…..

I’m guessing that this was a message for my daughter not to lose her temper and throw the baby out with the bath water, because she’d really regret it!

Update: Well, as luck would have it,after writing this post there was an incident during the evening that might fit these cards, sadly. My husband is a bright, good and generous man, but he also has an almost obsessive intolerance to noise of any kind. All week he was complaining about different residents in the condo complex for making noise, or their dogs barking etc. Last night, we were having a fun time playing a racing game having hearty laughs, when the girlfriend of the next door neighbor came riding up on her motorcycle, driving right up past our window. It’s been months since that’s happened, but my husband was up in a flash with a camera and out the door. He took pictures and threatened to call the police. It was the last straw for me, yes, they were being inconsiderate but it didn’t need that level of intimidation applied to it! Without heat on my side, I spoke up and said that he was acting like a cumudgeon, very crabby, and that all the complaining was becoming a bit embarrassing. He might be right, but his actions were going over the top at times.

Well, you’d think I’d put a sword through him! Wouldn’t talk to me the rest of the night and did his best to be self righteous the next morning! Now I’m the enemy.

It occurred to me afterwards, that that woman was a younger brunette, who has attitude for sure! and I didn’t lose my cool because of a bit of fear that he would turn on me, (he did any way…)

All I can say is that I’m starting to have a healthy respect for these cards…

Vecchia Signora – Lettera – Conversazione

Amongst my drawings this morning, I drew these with the Sibilla.

Vecchia Signora literally means older lady, so on one level it represents a person.

From my research, it can also can mean the following:  most commonly a journey, a movement, a transfer, or a visit that’s enjoyable. This card might portend the arrival of good news, a messenger, a person who comes to meet us, which helps us.

I have always thought of it as a person in my readings, but I’ll keep an open mind 🙂

La Lettera is a message, an email, documents or news.

La Conversazione in it’s simplest interpretation, means conversations.

This card can sometimes mean meeting up with friends, a working meeting, time spent in the company of friends , meeting between friends.
It is often referred to as the “group” card, but is a meeting with people with whom we want to clarify something, with which we have something outstanding, to which we want to express our reasons, submit our apologies, (according to a translation I got from an italian site!)

SO, my immediate feeling was that I or my husband would be receiving an email or text from an older woman.

If I were to apply some of the other possible meanings, there could be a journey (of a pleasant kind) to deal with documents… and meetings where something needs to be hammered out/clarified.

There is good news of some kind; and again papers that need people to meet and work on them…. or an email comes that contains good news….maybe it’s about the older woman?

We shall see! lol

Tea Leaf Fortune cards for the upcoming week:

Scales – Valley – Dog Far Away – Egg            (Click on image)

~The scales warn that if I want to experience true satisfaction in my life, then I must analyze my lifestyle and do whatever I can to restore necessary balance. (Interesting, because Lifehas been very uncertain for us for a long time.. trying our darndest to bring it back into normalcy)

~My soul will be nourished with the strength and peace and introspection that I need to assure success. (good thing!)

~ A Distant Friend is thinking of me…

~The Egg denotes that success is assured but only if I plan properly and work hard…

I’m not sure what to make of this. I know who the friend is, she’s my bosses wife & she’s  away all month getting alternative treatments for a condition she’s had. The other cards just make good sense! so I’m afraid I don’t have a clue to this combination! I’ll see how it goes and report back 🙂

Tea Leaf Fortune cards~

I’ve had the Tea Leaf Fortune cards for a long time now, but wasn’t using them as often as I wished because I found them ungainly. I couldn’t find a way to shuffle them satisfactorily! There are alot of cards in this deck, and there needs to be to properly represent tea leaf reading.

Others have used a bag to draw cards from, but that didn’t feel right.

The other day, I was perusing the local Staples store. There are alot of things in an office supply store that can be repurposed 🙂 and I found this plastic container for about $3.00. It’s perfect for these cards!! I’m able to store everything inside it, and I’m able to mix the cards thoroughly, getting my energy on all the cards before picking.

(Click on the pics below to enlarge)

So reconsider these cards….order them, pull them out again! USE them!

Onto a reading I just did for the week ahead:

Clouds -Nest- Lightening-Barrel

– Temporary problems,

–  an emotionally secure loving family is important to you,

–  control your anger or you’ll be sorry,

– you feel something is lacking in your life. It could be love, money or goals.

Yikes!! Well this reading is in my face! lol

Something is going to crop up this week, that I perceive as a problem. It most likely will seem to negatively affect the family/home in some way. I’ve got to watch how I react to this, because it could blow up into something worse than the temporary problem was! and yes, I already feel that a few things are lacking in my life…there is a personal dissatisfaction within me about all three: love, money & goals.

(I am deeply loved, and I know that – but it isn’t always demonstrated in a way that is soul satisfying)…

I’m already feeling a bit frustrated about some things, so I will take this warning to heart – I really don’t want to rock the boat at the moment 🙂

I’ll report back at the end of the week on this one –

UPDATE: This was definitely appropriate for the week I had. There were quite a few times where if I hadn’t kept my words and anger in check, Life would have become very difficult! I don’t always believe in curbing my tongue (!) but I’m glad I did this week – This week turned out much better because I heeded that advice. It was also the week of the Full Moon – which is notoriously bad for relations with my husband. He’s a Cancerian, and a particularly sensitive one on Full Moons. I didn’t remember the Full moon until it was upon us, so the cards saved me some major hassle!
