Plans come to pass with the Emperor card. He represents an outward manifestation of my goals or plans.
The Emperor might also be describing a self -made man, independent, or possibly an authority figure. The Emperor for me, also represents stability, being on solid ground…foundations are solid.
The Princess of Wands heralds Good News!
and the Knight of Pentacles tells me that the good news is concerning financial matters.
These cards could also point to an offer of a job as well…
Celeste mentioned confusion at trying to follow the Block of 9 Spread, so I’ve made up some diagrams that might help visualise the process better.
First, you read the Horizontal rows:
Then, you read the vertical rows:

The last 2 have more attributions to them and I’ve been searching through my notes to try to find the exact meanings…not there yet.
They are a summary in basic terms, but I will try to find what I jotted down in my notes š
*edit: The diamond cards: # 2-4-6-8 represent the Central Theme.
The 4 corners #1-3-7-9Ā give the summary of the reading.
When reading a Block of 9 spread, you’ll usually pick up a lot of information. I use it often with the Lenormand, but thought I would try it with the Kipper and see what I’d get.
In beginning, we read all 3 horizontal rows, then all 3 vertical rows. Then we read the diagonals and finish off with reading the 4 corners & then the 2nd/4th/6th & 8th cards (which form a diamond).
1st horizontal – 
:
It shows our worry and stress as to whether funds will be coming soon to the home. I come to that thought because in the Sibilla, the Stanza card is the ‘living room’ and it can refer to news coming, especially of a financial nature, among other meanings. Otherwise it’s just showing the current stress levels around the home.
2nd horizontal-
Unexpected money coming from the ‘financial’ man who’s is at a distance from us…..The Rich Good Lord card comes up for me to refer to my husband’s business partner “D”, or one his lawyers in the states. So, this is either about the phone call we got today that a deal has gone through, and money is coming (which was very unexpected); or it’s about the legal and a surprise settlement.
3rd horizontal-
The Good Dame is either the female defendant in my husband’s court case, or her close female supporter. I read this to mean that she is meeting with their lawyer….talks are in progress.
Next, the verticals:
1st vertical – 
I don’t necessarily view the Good Dame as being the same woman that I described in the horizontal row. This very well may be someone else, and since drawing this this morning, I think I might know who she is.
We are still under some very real financial stress – this is where our worries are at the moment. It looks like the cards are saying that I will be receiving unexpected money from the Good Dame. This may be a relative of mine, who graciously helped me in the past. It would truly be unexpected as she was very generous with her help, and I would never ask her for anything more.
2nd vertical-
Again, when I see the Living Room card, (or the Stanza card in the Sibilla) my first thoughts are of news on the way that could be of a financial nature. The Rich Good Lord and the Court Person are most likely describing the lawyers. The Living room also refers to something private. Aha… a private legal financial settlement…settlement out of court.
3rd vertical- 
This looks like family at a distance, and I’m seeing them? or there are some kind of meetings/coming together of family at a distance. There is something to do with the family at afar….
Then, we look at the diagonals:
1st diagonal –
Either my husband’s lawyer, or his business partner will be stressed out by meetings of some kind.
Oh, ick! actually the combination of the Worry card and the Rich Good lord is also havie concerns with the bank, or financial problems. Interesting that this is part of the “X” – that’s what we’re dealing with right now!
2nd diagonal – I’m not sure if this should be like writing an “X” and read from the top right, or my natural tendencies when reading is from left to right, which would be from the bottom left on up…. I think I’d better read both and see! lol
From what I’ve researched, combining the Rich Good Lord with the Good Dame can give you the meanings of a wealthy woman, or a woman who will financially support. Again, I bring this up as I have a family member who has financially helped us with the mortgage in the past. I hate to think that that would be needed again! but I make note of it here.
House combined with Rich Good Lord could describe a family business, or in feeling secure in one’s own home (this could be because of the supportive woman, OR it could just be describing the way I am going to feel soon.
(I have also been planning on being self-employed this year – so this may apply to that)
If I were to read from the bottom left, up to the right, I would have this.
The Good Dame+Rich Good Lord can describe a monied older woman, or an entrepeneurial woman. Rich Good Lord+House has some interesting meanings also. It can describe a secure independence, a secure possession, a loan designed to assist construction or the HOME! I’ve got an eery feeling this is still talking about this relative!
I’m hoping that I’m actually the Good Dame in this instance, and that it’s either describing me as an entrepeneur working from home…feeling secure and independent. That is my hope!
Next, we look at the 4 corners:
Worry about our home, or worry around the family…. female family member & meetings with.
And lastly, we look at the 4 points of the diamond:
I like this line: There is news coming soon conerning finances…Unexpected money coming from a distance.. this is connected to Court & the lawyers. SO I would say that there is news coming from the lawyers or court of unexpected money or a surprise settlement!
The middle card shows what the reading is all about – 
He represents the banker, the financial trader or someone dealing with alot of money. It’s the bank or finances in general, or wealth & independence. It has the message that financial matters are at the moment favored.. it also can represent ‘security’… I think all of the above applies to me in this reading!
If I remember correctly, the block of 9 spread covers approximately 3 months, maybe a little more.
I hope you can see how useful this spread can be š I was surprised to see how well it works with the Kipper.
*****updateĀ FEBRUARY 9th: Parts of this reading have amazingly already come true – parts that I thought I had incorrectly interpreted! The 1st and 3rd vertical rows describe unexpected financial help from a woman, and meetings with family at a distance. My cousin called me later that week and offered to help us with our mortgage. I was absolutely shocked, as I never would have asked her. The 2nd diagonal, read in either direction, also pointed out to a woman helping us with the house/or helping the family. The 4 corners in summary also pointed to this occurrence!
we received a message that the financial trader/friend/partner is sending some funds into the business account. It’s not the “big deal” yet, but it is an unexpected cushion that will help immensely.
I can’t get over who well the Kipper cards work with the Block of 9 spread!
Gran Signore – Belvedere – Consolante Sorpresa
I’ve been drawing the Gran Signore almost every day! lol it is the card of my husband, who is also a King of Hearts.
Belvedere is a nice card to see- as it says that there is something coming in which to appreciate. It is not the card of wishful expectation and longing, such as ‘Sospiri’, but of something definitely on it’s way!
The final card shows what’s on that horizon š Consolante Sorpresa, which is a card of financial increases and rewards.
So very ready for this, and nice to see that the cards are reaffirming it. They are certainly correct for all the ‘not-so-nice’ predictions!! lol

3 of Hearts – Queen of Hearts – Ace of Diamonds
I drew these on Monday, while I was still in quite a bit of turmoil with my significant other. I felt really low, and was surprised to see this draw. (I didn’t explain it to him either! lol some things are better left unsaid!)
The 3 of Hearts shows expanding love, things growing emotionally, or a celebration.
The Queen of Hearts represents me š
And the Ace of Diamonds has a few meanings: it could refer to a gift, a ring, or a message of some sort. Now I also connect it to the Ace of Pentacles in the tarot; so I could also guess the beginning of a financial venture, or money being offered etc.
At the time of the draw, we were hardly acknowledging each other, the anger was so great; and in a fit we had taken our rings off! talk about tumultous! I had quickly put mine back on the next morning, having pivoted in my perspective, but he hadn’t…….and it hurt to see the bare finger!
I smiled when I saw this draw, as I immediately got the message that love would return and expand, and the wedding ring would be back š
Sure enough, this morning all is well – we made up, and the ring re-appeared. So the cards were a reassurance that all would get better:)
(we aren’t normally so intense!! thank goodness)
Now on another level this could be saying that we’ll be celebrating shortly because of a financial counter-offer from the defendant in my husband’s court case. That would fit too – but my immediate thought was of a personal one, and it happened within 24 hours, so that’s definitely a match…
This morning, I drew these 3 cards from the Gypsy deck. My initial thought was that possibly there would be a change for me either in the way I viewed a friendship/relationship (which did indeed happen) or that maybe in it’s simplest terms, was saying that there would be a death connected to a friend of mine.
Now, ironically, I had had a dream last night, of a dear friend in England; and in the dream she lost a good friend. I was so bothered by the dream, and then by this draw, that I thought it must be connected to her. I haven’t heard back from her yet to know if that’s the case.
I did though, just find out a moment ago, that another dear friend in England lost her mother to cancer last week!
So the Gypsy cards were literal in their meaning…………very sad.
The majority of times, the card Militare will refer to someone who works in a uniform; like a police officer, a fireman, a grocery worker or a nurse! lol it often comes up as a lawyer as well.
But another meaning comes to mind, rather than the describing of a person.
The card may make reference to a difficult period for the consultant, fraught with obstacles of various kinds, but that may be overcome by gritting the teeth, they must appeal to their own considerable inner strength in the presence of this card.
In love it makes reference to a period of conflict and things hidden to the companion.
And here is what I immediately thought that the card meant this time.
Following Militare, is Imeneo which translates to ‘marriage’. Often this has to do with meetings & agreements,or the fulfillment of plans in the life of the consultant; but for me,at this moment, it’s the basic meaning.
Seeing the Casa following Imeneo, led me to believe that this was more personal and intimate than just meetings & agreements.
The cards this morning were telling me that I was going to go through a bit more discomfort where my relationship is concerned, and that I have to rely on my inner strength and grit my teeth!
AND…by afternoon, that was exactly the advice I needed to keep from getting into a major heated argument with my husband. I just kept remembering to stay strong, and not to get defensive – it was very dificult! One’s knee-jerk reaction is to retort when you’re feeling attacked, but I was determined to stay in listening mode as much as I could.
Another way these 3 cards could have been cold read, was that the Militare was a person who wears some kind of uniform, it’s usually a young man. This brought to mind my eldest son, who lives back in the states, and is the assistant manager in a grocery store š lolĀ Had I known better, I could have deduced that maybe he was going to get married! or that something important around his home was about to be realized.
We’ll see, there could be a second layer to this draw!
Actually, the 3rd layer would be the advice to “stay strong’ in the midst of challenges, because you are about to realize some of your plans concerning the family or home!
Jason on his great blog, Jase on Cards, wrote an interesting article about an Oracle system devised by Ophiel, using a deck of playing cards. It was not something I had heard of before, although I have a series of Ophiel’s books in pdf.
Lo and behold! I discovered that I had it in my vast collection and had never noticed it!
I thought I would share this pdf with any interested cartomancers, as it’s availability and price are ridiculous.

I drew these earlier this week. I thought they were referring to my female cousin that I had been in contact with. I couldn’t see how they might relate to me, to be honest, not then.
The 8 of Hearts usually refers to a relationship; not necessarily a romantic one.
The 8 of Swords describes this relationship as being one-sided, out of balance somehow. It also has the meaning of feeling trapped.
I knew this all pertained to the Queen of Hearts, (which is also me) but at the time of the draw I was happy and looking forward to my husband returning.
He wasn’t home 24 hours before there was a blow up over our dog. It quickly escalated, sadly; and the happy, loving feelings I had felt earlier, were replaced with feeling absolutely trapped in a relationship that is all about ‘him’. Had I had the funds to leave, I think I would have! This connects to the Lenormand draw that I did a day later, which I’ve written about here.
So here’s a draw that I totally didn’t see for me, thinking I would hear about another Queen of Hearts with a relationship issue, never for once thinking that I would feel so awful, so quickly! sigh*Ā The cards are something else!
Now if only the great draws that I have also had this week would manifest so quickly!!!!!
IĀ no sooner came back with a cup of tea, to put together a post, when my laptop crashed! (only the 3rd or 4th time in 7 months…..sigh*
Luckily, most of my data was already saved, but I spent a week trying to get everything humming again. What a pain!!
My husband has come back from a long journey, attending court which he is the plaintiff in. It was left still hanging in mid-air, as the new judge had not allocated enough time to hear the defendant’s testimony. Another 2 weeks to wait for a final decision…….what a saga!
I thought I would christen a learning deck that I just finished making š – I’ve been dying to get my hands on a Grand Lenormand deck. I’ve been planning on buying one for the past year, and just haven’t been able to order one. (When you’re short on funds, your love for decks have to go on the back burner! lol) So last night, I printed the images from the deck onto cardstock, and on the back side I put the abbreviated meanings that I had for all the symbols.
Before cutting on a paper cutter, I covered both sides with clear book film. I now have a great learning aid to properly acquaint myself with this daunting deck!

I pulled 2 cards asking what I most needed to know, and these were the 2 cards I got:
The 1st card is the Jack of Spades & the 2nd card is the 2 of Clubs.
The Grand Lenormand is very often read in a spread of 3-5 or 7 cards. Usually an odd number, so that there is a middle card that gives the subject of the reading. Usually the first business is to read the Main pictures (central) and tie together a message. Then the reader would look at the small pictures that are adjacent to each other from the neighboring card. For example, with the 2 cards I’ve drawn, one would take the bottom right little picture of the 1st card, and read it in conjunction with the bottom left little picture of the 2nd card. They will add to the story.
When you have a line of 5-7 cards, it adds quite a bit!
There are also playing card insets at the top right, which may or may not help with the reading; and if the question had to pertain to ‘love’, then you would look up the meanings of the flowers at the middle bottom as well.
I just asked “what do I need to know” – I was just experimenting! lol not even thinking that I would get much of an answer…..but lo and behold! this makes a heck of alot of sense!
The 1st card’s main picture is representative of the Zodiac sign, Libra. He is the philospher holding up a pair of scales. He is a man of higher education. He is a legislator.
“Justice has been rendered..”Justice & equality is the meaning of this card!Ā (what are the odds of me picking this card? lol)
The 2nd card’s main picture is a depiction of the Goddesses extracting Gold from the river Pactolus. It signifies a gift, a Legacy, an Inheritance, or unexpected support. The 2 of clubs comes from the group of cards pertaining to” the Unexpected”.
So here I am! with my first 2 cards I’ve ever pulled, and they are talking of receiving the legacy/the winnings from the Court…..that the court will rule in our favor!!
On the 1st card, the little picture on the bottom right, shows a man before a judge. Someone’s plea will be rejected.
On the 2nd card, the little picture on the bottom left, shows a bird standing on top of a rock. The meaning being “riches and fame” (I have no idea why)
So as a secondary piece of information, the cards are hinting that the defendent’s plea will be rejected, and there will be riches and fame coming.
How wild is that?!
If I were to read the playing card insets, I would probably say sudden communication/ sudden news..business correspondenceĀ or sudden benefits being received…
SO, my very first mini reading turned out to be right on topic, for what is going with my family. I’m impressed!
I will experiment more with these and post about them again.
I hope that my computer woes are behind me, and that now I can begin writing regularly again. Thanks guys for the well-wishes – I’ve missed you!
